THE LEONARD LAITY STOATE CHARITABLE TRUST |
DECEMBER 2007 |

FAMILY ALLOCATIONS |
||
|
Another chance for family members to
nominate charitable donations |
||
|
The trustees would like to emphasize that it
is open for any member of the family to put forward charitable projects that
fall within our general grant giving criteria for consideration at our meetings. We are offering again to family members the
opportunity to nominate charitable donations for projects that are of special
interest to them, even if they do not fall strictly within the criteria. We
are particularly keen for the younger generations to take an interest. The
trustees have to have the last say, but nominations will normally be
acceptable on the following basis: 1. A single allocation of £100 for each direct
descendant of Leonard, down to the level of great-grandchild, aged 16 or
over. 2. The allocation to be used in the current financial
year, in practice I would have to have nominations by the 29th February
2008, for approval at the March meeting. 3. Whilst not compulsory, we would prefer that
donations go to projects close to (your) home, or which are otherwise
relatively small and well known to you, rather than into the general funds of
a national charity. 4. The beneficiary must however be a charity
registered in England and Wales, or be exempt from registration (eg most
churches). 5. Allocations not to be split into smaller sums. 6. Allocations not used cannot be carried forward. As there are about 40 family members
eligible under these criteria, there is going to be quite a lot of
administration involved. I would like therefore to keep the process as
streamlined as possible. Therefore in making a nomination of your allocation please: a). send it to me by e-mail if possible,
otherwise write. b). give me the name and address of the
charity to benefit, and if it is a particular branch of a charity, say so. c). give the charity registration number (if
applicable). d). say if the money is to be applied towards
a particular project of the charity concerned. e). say whether you would like me to say that
you have nominated the donation when I send it. Please remember these grants will not be
paid until after our next meeting on 10th March. |
