Welcome to the first of what may well become an annual electronic report to the family on the activities of the charity trust set up by Leonard Laity Stoate in 1950. Although each branch of Leonard's family (except Tom of course) is represented amongst the trustees, the family becomes spread further apart as time goes on. The internet provides an ideal means of keeping everyone in touch with what is going on. To avoid too much bulk, I have tried to keep this "contents" page fairly short, and to provide links to the separate sections covered. Please use your browser buttons (forward and back) to navigate. First of all, for those not familiar with the trust, some background information: Then, as a report on the activities for the year ended 5th April 2005: Please also see the trust's website at www.stoate-charity.org.ukMy thanks to Stephen for contributing the sections on the Terms of the Trust and the Grant Selection Criteria, and to my father Geoffrey for original Trust History, which I have simply brought up-to-date at the end. The remainder is, I am afraid, down to me! I hope you find this newsletter useful and informative - suggestions on format and content of future editions will be gratefully received! Best wishes Philip Stoate |
